quick note -> keep hyperlinks when saving from word top pdf

Hi Connie:
when saving a Word document as PDF, you might loose some of the Hyperlinks.
Basic fact: only links that are written in the full URL, will continue to work.
See the example below:

Student Tech Captains

At Chadwick International we have a Student (and Teacher) tech captain program in place. The Captains serve as direct contact for their peers, helping them with their Laptops in our 1:1 Mac environment. Once in a week, they will join the Tech exploratories. This is where students will work on their tech skills, get advanced training in specific areas, learn about building a team, and demonstrate and apply their knowledge in an efficient way.
We are lucky with this setup, although it's not fully established yet, we are still in the process of initialising all procedures and facilities. A great thing to do!

PE Sport Apps (iPhone/iPad)

An overview of some iPhone/iPad apps for PE,
(collected by some Apple PE teachers)

enjoy
==============================================

Training/Conditioning App -  Nike Training by Nike - Great free app with lots of videos for proper training techniques.

Tryouts App - Tryout Tracker by Grandslam Software - Takes time to setup, but is awesome once it is.

Video Analysis App - BB Swing by Insta-Pro - Gives the ability to email the player directly after you've analyzed the swing or pitch. We've also used iSwing and Swing Reader, but they're not as good.

Scorekeeping App - Game Changer by Game Changer - Awesome program that is always being updated to accommodate what coaches and players want.

Great app for creating training workout to exercise specific muscle groups

Don't let the name put you off. V1 Golf allows you to record video in to the app and then annotate it. You can then choose to email an annotated still or the video to the student. The Sports department loves it.

A good app for explaining tactics and formations. Has lots of pre-loaded sports fields

NIke + = Purchased for our entire Cross Country Team...it has been a great way for kids to get motivated and push each other virtually.
iPushups....Used this with 4th 5th and 6th graders...a great app for teaching introductory terminology of following a weight training or similar program.
.
Court Side Tech....a basket coaching app where plays, offenses, defenses etc can be drawn up and then put in motion where kids and coaches can see where people are suppose to be going and what they are too look like.  You can make passes, show where picks go etc.
Also used these apps although not extensively they have served a purpose and become a part of my teaching kit: Daily Ab workout, Daily Cardio workout, Daily Arm Workout, Pilates Free.......

iMuscle, which shows the actual musculature system as well as specific workouts designed to work that exact area of the body:

Math Typing on a MAC

Need an equation editor for Office 2008 or Pages on your Mac?
Consider using MathType! It will have full functionality for 30 days, and thereafter the light mode will keep running, no need to pull your creditcard. It will be still be very usable though, and most claim that Mathtype 'light' is still better than the full MS Equation editor!

The software works with another variety of programs, including Google docs.

http://www.dessci.com/  is the link for download

And while we are at it, get the dust of your iPad (really?) and explore the goodies out there:

Interactive whiteboard (Macbook and iPad)

If you would want to use an iPad as an interactive whiteboard, you need to pair up your iPad and your Mac laptop. They make a great couple!
You might want to try "Splashtop", which includes "streaming" software for your Macbook, in combination with an iPad app.

http://support-whiteboard.splashtop.com/entries/20164301-introduction-and-launching

Integrated in the iPad app is the ability to remotely control your computer (which is connected to a classroom projector).
The App gives you the extra interactive annotation possibilities, and screenshots can be made at any given moment.

Who said they wanted this expensive interactive whiteboard . . .?
